He came to bring the Mourners Joy

    • About

  • Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, His Work is perfect: for all His ways are Judgment: a God of Truth and without Iniquity, just and right is He.

What God does, He does well; He gives and takes away. He can look mercifully on us, or He can oppress us. Today we taste the Wine, but tomorrow the Tears. Today we sing, tomorrow we go to the grave.

What God does, is done well: who can match His Wisdom? If He calls my Child to Heaven, to dwell in pure Zion, and breaks my Heart into a thousand Pieces, who are am I to criticize?

What God does, is done well. He does not hesitate but makes it perfect, taking it from a thorny Path into His Bosom. We may weep for a Time, but what pleases God, He gathers for His own.

What God does, He does well. The World may lie and pervert, but in Heaven are Roses without Thorns. No matter that the World is a Wilderness, in God’s Hands is perfect safety.

What God does, He does well. I will surrender All to Him. Heaven is a beautiful Canaan, here a heathen World. Go there, Child, where the Sun always shines and never sets.

What God does, is well done. A Christian Heart believes that God will restore what Death has stolen from us. So rejoice my Child. For you there will be Hugs and Kisses in that Land of Milk and Honey.

Yes, God does it, and does it well! He sees my Tears as I look up to Heaven, with sighs and longing. O, that I could see my Child there with You! O yes, Lord, grant me this and let it be. Amen.

  • Genesis 18:3

And said, My Lord, if now I have found Favour in Thy Sight, pass not away, I pray Thee, from Thy Servant:

Save us with Your Grace, Lord Jesus Christ! that the cunning Deceit of the Enemy cannot harm us.

Save us with Your Word, esteemed Redeemer! that Help and Salvation may be granted to us Here and in Heaven.

Let Your Splendor cover us, O shining Light! may Your Truth surround us on the narrow Path we must walk.

May Your Blessings remain with us, O bountiful Lord! may Your Goodness increase the Strength of our Faith.

May Your protection surround us, O mighty Prince! that the Enemy may not attack us, nor the wicked World overcome us.

May Your Faithfulness support us, my Lord and God! through all Adversity grant us constant Help and Mercy. Amen.

  • Isaiah 44:8

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that Time, and have declared it? ye are even My Witnesses. Is there a God beside Me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.

O my Soul! arise and consider with Devotion how God revealed Himself, and how He should be esteemed. He is the Most High in Heaven and on Earth. He should be praised at all Times as the Creator of the entire Universe.

God! You are the One for ever and ever! There is no other. You are the only Comfort and Salvation. Besides You there is no other Helper or Saviour. Let me, Lord, trust only You with all my Heart. Let me be utterly devoted to You, and cling to You and build my Life upon You, God, alone.

O Lord, my God! You are one Spirit, and You give to us all Things spiritual, according to Your Will. Help me to be Spiritual, so that I may feel Your Power within me, that when I come before You I can worship You in Spirit and in Truth.

You are, O God of Eternity, without Beginning and without End. Grant that my Heart turn away from Temporal Joys, that I may always remember and pray that You would grant me the imperishable Inheritance with You. Do not let the World and it’s Distractions change my Heart.

O God! You are Everywhere and Immeasurable. Wherever we are, we are not Forgotten by You. Do not let me doubt that You can take care of me, where ever I maybe. Let me fear You and be Ashamed of the Evil that I do in Your Sight.

It is Infinite, Lord! Your Power to save those who love You, and to wreak Vengeance on those who despise You. Grant me Your Protection that I need not fear Human Wrath, but only Your Punishment. In fear I plead to You for the Safety of my Body and Soul.

God! You are full of the highest Wisdom, it cannot be measured. No matter how grievous the Situation, You always know of a Solution. Grant that I may always trust in You and give my Cares to You. Let me not think or do Evil, because You know all that is Hidden, and test my Heart.

God! You are Holy and Just: You cannot tolerate Sin. If we want to be Your Servant we must avoid all Evil. Grant that I may strive for Holiness, pursue Justice, and accept Your Judgments. And Lord, help me to Understand!

Lord, You are very Merciful and Good. When a Sinner repents and turns to You, You have Mercy as a Father with his Children. Lord, let my Heart always find Comfort in Your Love and Mercy, take my Transgressions as far away from me as the Morning is from the Night.

Lord! You are Truth, and Blessed are those who believe. Heaven and Earth may pass away, but Your Word, Lord, endures for ever. Grant that I may fear Your Judgment and live in Hope of Your Promises which You gave to me. Hope will banish the Shame of my Sin.

Lord! You freely give Your Blessings. You are a Merciful God, and give abundantly that which pleases You. Let me be content with Your holy Will. From You and only You do I expect Goodness and Mercy.

God, if I know and honour You, and make Your Word my Foundation, I can rejoice more in it than in all other Treasures. You are the true Light and I speak Your Name with Reverence and with Praise unceasing.

God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Who desire to be praised on Earth by one and all, let Your Glory shine. Grant me Grace, Power and Strength that I may say Your Name and praise Your good Works at all Times. Lord, grant me this as long as I remain on this Earth. Amen.

  • Psalm 39:12

Hear my Prayer, O Lord, and give Ear unto my Cry; hold not Thy Peace at my Tears: for I am a Stranger with Thee, and a Sojourner, as all my Fathers were.

I am a Pilgrim like my Fathers before me, travelling to Jerusalem, that great City founded on the Blood of Christ. There I will praise my God! I am on a Pilgrimage to the new Jerusalem!

I quickly leave this Land and in my pilgrim’s Robe walk toward my Home above. The Home that the Lord Jesus prepared for me. He Who taught me to despise what is Temporary and to seek only that which is Eternal. I pray my escort of Angels may bring me before the Lord so I can see His unveiled Face clearly.

No Journey is without Hardships. The Road is narrow and my Enemies many. I stumble upon Thorns and walk through barren Deserts. Yet I take my walking Stick and Faith and walk unafraid. I leave the World and it’s Possessions behind me. I need not fret or worry as long as I have Jesus Christ my one and only Guide to show me the Way.

The Sun that shines into my Heart Fails and the Tempests buffet me. My Spirit is weary and there is no Rest any where. But still I hurry over Mountains and through Valleys, Heavenward where I will find many Friends. The Dividends for my Effort will be to see the golden Gate of Heaven before me, where I will be reconciled with Jesus Christ through his Blood and Word.

Already the Blind of the World do not know me. I am a Stranger on Earth, but up there are Friends who will know me. Here in this Desert there is only Fear. O my Saviour come! Do not let me wait too long. There I will serve You with the Heavenly Host, burning with the purest Love and rejoicing for ever! Amen.

  • Ephesians 5:9

    For the Fruit of the Spirit is in all Goodness and Righteousness and truth;

O great Saviour, Your Spirit flows deep into my Heart. One Drop of Your Love is worth a thousand Worlds.

Mere Words cannot describe the full Light of Your Grace, when it comes into the Heart and the Mouth professes Faith.

What good are a thousand Worlds? what is there to be Gained? when You rebuke me and all my Happiness is gone.

But when I have You with me, all the Worlds are mine. O! who can say what my Profit will be if I am assured of Your Grace!

Therefore I will know You by Your Light, for it shines like no other. When I see Your Face, there will be nothing that can equal or replace it. Amen.

  • Isaiah 49:23

And Kings shall be thy nursing Fathers and their Queens thy nursing Mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the Earth, and lick up the Dust of thy Feet; and thou shall know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me.

God’s Wisdom and Understanding encompasses the Works of the whole World; He cannot be deceived. His mighty Hand does no Wrong and unlike the Children of Men, He does not lie. Ultimately perverse Souls are delivered to Destruction.

He does not love evil Hearts. Those who live wickedly come into Judgment. He sees the whole World and what it represents. He chose the Israelites to live separately from the wicked World. He loves those whose Hearts do not feed on Evil.

Therefore circumcise your Heart, and follow His Commandments. For he who is circumcised inwardly is a true Israelite, and is united with Him in Spirit. O Brother, serve Him with Supplication and Prayer! For God called Job His Servant because he lived Right even when things went Wrong.

The Heart must be cleansed of Hatred, Envy and Enmity, no longer serving Adam’s Desires. If our Heart is renewed in Faith, God’s Spirit will cause Love to flourish in us, and we will not be abandoned but Sustained and made Whole.

If the Heart closes itself to the Spirit and the Circumcision reverses back, our Peace of Mind will be lost. If God no longer lives in us, how can we stand United with one another? The Lust of the World destroys that which is Heavenly. We would rather that our Hearts should with Patience, without Guilt or Fear bear Fruit to God.

If the Seed falls on hard Ground, on Stones, or among Thorns, it will remain Fruitless, and the Heart will be Empty. His holy Word is like a Tenderizer, softening hard Hearts. This Word that makes Mountains tremble, is also like the fertile Dew which wets and refreshes weary Souls.

When the Earth absorbs the Rain and bears good Fruit, it is given with God’s Blessing. The Weeds which grew there before were rooted out and cursed. God will Repay each according to his Works.

Therefore Brothers, we look forward to Eternity with Hope, because God will reward justly. Nothing will be forgotten by Him. Pain is the Reward of the Wicked, and Happiness and Glory the Reward of the Good. After a short Time here on Earth will come Eternity for Ever.

What we do unto others will be rewarded. If it is only so much as a Cup of Water, He will repay us. Yes, be it great or small, that which we do in His Name will be exalted on High by a Choir of Angels and recorded on our Page of the Book of Life.

For when He saw many putting large Amounts into the Poor Box, and a poor Widow only put in two Pennies, He praised her Gift more than the others. She gave with her Heart all that she had. We only notice outward Appearances, but God looks on the Heart.

A poor Widow fed Elijah the Prophet the last of the food she had, and was richly rewarded with a never ending Supply. Elisha the Prophet healed a rich Man’s Leprosy but took no pay. But Elisha’s greedy servant demanded Payment from Naaman and suffered lifelong Affliction.

From that Time forth the Widow was well fed And Naaman was healed, and God granted them Grace. Indeed many are thus called but few choose to join God’s Flock. Those who do join are they who choose to be Spiritually born again.

A spiritual Person cannot rest without doing good Works. For the Spirit of God calls to His Children and through Faith and good Works and makes them Heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven. O God! let us do good Deeds and help those in Need that we may be Blessed for all Eternity. Amen.

  • John 8:12

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the Light of the world; he that followeth Me shall not walk in Darkness, but shall have the Light of Life.

O Christ! true Light of the Soul, Your Christian Sun shines on us and Your Kindness is renewed every Morning. In You we find true Mercy and our Worries are forgotten.

Awaken me from my sinful Slumber, for You are my Light. Create a new Life in me. You have given the World the Sun that fills us with Delight and Hope, and You surely renew me every Day.

Without the Sun no Light can be seen. Without God’s radiant Light, no Man can see Christ, Who waters our Hearts with the heavenly Rain of His Teaching. Lord, think of me and grant me this Rain.

Gaze on me with Your friendly Countenance, so that the Spirit of my Soul may be refreshed, and desire to taste the sweet Joy of Heaven. There is nothing else that could bring so much Bliss.

Take away my Pride, the lust for worldly Pleasures, and Vanity for mere Appearances sake. Lord, make me detest the World’s Delights that lead to destruction. Those Values all lead to eternal Death.

Jesus! my Joy, always remain my Light, until there dawns that Day when all Suffering ceases. I will happily wear my Robe of White and without ceasing, sing Praises to God for ever! Amen.

  • Genesis 18:32

And he said, O let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And He said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

O great God! mighty and rich in Mercy! Will You punish all the Nations with Wrath? May be there are still those who follow Your Commandments. Please spare them and punish them not.

O great God! Please do not punish the Wicked and the Pious the same. If there are fifty who do according to Your Will, forgive them and punish them not.

O great Counsellor! have Mercy and judge with merciful Justice. If there are forty-five who do Your Will spare them and punish them not.

O God of Strength! see this poor Nation and stay Your Hand of punishment. If there are forty righteous ones, do not reward them with Evil.

O God of great Power! have Mercy and Patience with this oft repeated Prayer. If there are thirty righteous ones, forgive and spare them.

O God of Mercy! hear this Voice again, and hear the loud sighing before Your Throne. There may be twenty who obey Your Commandments. Spare them and punish them not.

O God of Praise! if indeed every one is full of Sin and You wish to destroy them, remember the little Children that do Your Will and spare them. Do not reward them as You do the Evil ones.

O great God of Faithfulness! no one is as important as Your Son Jesus Christ, Who came to appease Your Anger. See His Wounds, His Anguish, Torment and great Pain. For His sake spare us and forgive us our many Sins. Amen.

  • James 5:16

Confess your Faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent Prayer of a righteous Man availeth much.

How comforting Your faithful Word, o dearest God, has promised when Trouble brings us into Despair and we do not hesitate to call on You with Confidence, to deliver us.

O Lord! we have brought this Plague upon ourselves, and the Disease has swept over us. The Grave has covered many before they were aware of it.

Death will take us like Sheep, with Famine and Sickness. Many will forget about God and perish unforgiven. As swift as the Sword the Plague consumes without favour, and still Man does not acknowledge God.

I must not harden my Heart, I must confess my Wrongs. I will burn for it as so many already have if I do not confess my Guilt. Only You Lord can heal this Plague and comfort me.

I have not listened to Your divine Word. Often Distractions have over taken my good Intentions. For the Lust of the World and Flesh, Satan’s Snares have tripped me up and deceived.

O God! we have desired Money and Goods above all. We have not restrained ourselves from sinning. This has become our Plague and Poison, weakening our Spirit and consuming us entirely.

We have tasted the spoiled and rotten Fruit of the World and enjoyed it. Then the Plague comes and we are filled with Fear. All of our Pride is gone. In Fear we see the open Grave before us.

Many times we have defiled our Land and Houses with Abominations, Shame and Sins of the World. We have not heard the Voice of Thunder of the Most High. Is it any Wonder that Suffering overcomes us?

Faithful God! we cannot free ourselves from Injustice; we cry out for Comfort in Your presence. Great Pain presses upon us, with broken Hearts we beg Forgiveness.

Our Eyes weep and on our Knees we come before You. The Great and the Small cry to You: Forgive us, please, the Sins that angered You. Let Your Mercy shine upon us.

Take the harsh tormenting Rod from us. Lord! punish us as a Father does, so we do not despair. I have embraced You in Faith. Help me and others to carry this Burden graciously.

You are our Helper in our great Need. You can lead us in the right Path. You Who overcame Illness are victorious over Death. Sometimes we get bruised by You, but as our Physician You can also quickly heal.

Now Lord! mark the Gate and the Door with Christ’s Blood, so that when the Strangler comes, we will not perish. Be merciful Lord! let us inherit Heaven with healthy Hearts and Souls, according to Your Grace and Mercy. Amen.

  • Isaiah 41:13

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right Hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Follow Me, Ask for Life. If you ask, I will give. Only follow the right Path. Follow Me with your Heart. I will take away your Pain, and teach you to be Gentle and Humble.

Yes, Lord Jesus! I know I should follow You. I know if I am ashamed to follow You I cannot be called Christian. I know very well that You are the Way.

But Lord where can I find the Strength to do Good, and follow You with Joy? Alas, Lord, I am too Weak to walk the good Path. I have not the Strength to love You, O precious Light.

My Spirit is often moved, but soon deceived by the Flesh when Lust calls: follow me! Honour, Splendor, Avarice and Injustice want to make themselves my Master.

O, how I long for Goodness, but the World loves only Money and Riches. We are soon diverted and follow not the Lord Who wants to give us Life eternal, as He promised us by His Death on the Cross.

But Lord! I will not let go of You. Give me Mercy and strengthen me that I may hold firmly to You. Your Paths follow Wisdom.

You have gone before us, not with great Pride or Ceremony, nor Strife and Contention, but with Grace and Mercy. As Members of Your Household we can follow steadfastly. Walking in the Paths of Virtue that You walked before us.

Lord, You walked among that evil Crowd, when the Power of their Sin brought You to the Cross. With Your Exceeding great love for us, Your precious Blood paid the highest Price for us.

Let us also walk as Christ did, without wavering, so that Love and Kindness will bring us together. Let us not look behind us, rather where Christ walked before us. That is what His Desire is for us.

Jesus! my Light and Life, Your Footsteps are perfectly straight, and sweeter than Honey. Help me to leave my Path of Sin. Show me Lord, how to walk the Paths and Ways that are right.

Let me follow with Grace, so that I walk among the Innocents and not among the Mockers. Help me to follow You not only in Joy, but also when my Cross is heavy with Suffering and Strife.

Let me not be discouraged Lord, though my Path leads through Fear and Tribulation. We must wade through Misfortunes and rely on the Lord’s strength to help us through. We must truly be Patient.

Lord let my walk on Earth not end too quickly. Grant me the Time that I may find the Light of Grace in Time. Help me to walk the Path of Virtue from Youth to old Age, that it may come from the Heart.

Help me, Lord! above all to successfully walk my Course with true Love and Humility. Help me to trust You on Earth that I may see You with Joy up there. Grant me the first while I am here and the second in Eternity. Amen.
